Mike Ritrovato served 22 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Master Sergeant in September 2022. He sells real estate the same way he ran a section: plan it, brief it, execute it, and tell people the truth.
The Service Record
From MCRD San Diego to a final tour at Camp Pendleton.
He enlisted straight out of high school and shipped to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. He trained as an Amphibious Assault Vehicle operator at Camp Pendleton, then moved to Camp Lejeune, where he deployed to the Mediterranean in 2003 and again in 2005.
He deployed to Iraq in 2006. After that came recruiting duty in Poughkeepsie, New York, a job that is mostly listening to families and telling them the truth about a decision that will change their lives. Multiple deployments to Okinawa followed, and he finished where he started, at Camp Pendleton.
Twenty-two years, retired as a Master Sergeant, September 2022. He lives in Burleson now.
The Second Career
Why a Marine ends up selling houses.
Recruiting duty is the part of his record that explains the second career. For three years his job was to sit at kitchen tables with parents and explain something enormous, in plain language, without overselling it. People could tell when he was straight with them. That is the whole job in real estate too.
