MCRD San Diego, then Amphibious Assault Vehicles at Camp Pendleton. Camp Lejeune with Mediterranean deployments in 2003 and 2005. Iraq in 2006. Recruiting duty in Poughkeepsie, New York. Multiple deployments to Okinawa, and a final posting back at Camp Pendleton.
He retired as a Master Sergeant in September 2022 and now lives in Burleson. The way he describes his own standard has not changed much since then.

No. Eligible borrowers with full VA entitlement can buy with zero down payment and no monthly mortgage insurance. There is usually a one-time VA funding fee, and borrowers with a service-connected disability rating are often exempt from it. Your lender and the VA confirm your specific entitlement in writing.
